On the morning of 2011 December 5th, School of Economics and Resource Management of Beijing Normal University and USA Emerging Markets Forum have unveiled the nameplate of Emerging Markets Institute, announcing its establishment in BNU. Liu Chuan Sheng, Secretary of the Party Committee, Harinder Kohli, CEO of Emerging Markets Forum, Gan Zang Chun, Party member and Deputy Chief Inspector of Ministry of Land and Resources of PR. China, Lu Mai, Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation, Zhang Yan Sheng, Director of External Economic Institute of China Development and Reform Commission, Mei Song, the Minister of the Beijing Municipal Government Propaganda Department and other honored guests participated in the meeting, unveiled the nameplate and congratulated on the foundation of Emerging Markets Institute. The meeting is moderated by BNU Executive Vice President Dong Qi.
Ms. Liu Chuang Sheng delivered her speech in the meeting. She says that emerging market countries are the major forces to drive the global economic growth. It is significant to deepen and widen the research of interactive relations between emerging market countries and global economics. The establishment of Emerging Markets Institute is an important decision for BNU to be adapted to the new changes of global economics and to better meet the strategic demand of the model shifting of national economical development. BNU actively supports School of Economics and Resources Management to strategically and internationally cooperate with Emerging Markets Forum, wishing that both sides will spend their effort in the international cooperation and innovation and achieve valuable and fruitful results in the international studies, especially emerging markets studies.
Mr. Harinder Kohli also expresses in his speech that Emerging Markets Forum will closely and efficiently cooperate with BNU to make an effort in researching and discussing the various and tough difficulties and challenges emerging market counties face in their rapid development and model shifting.
Executive Vice President Dong Qi announces the nomination of President Hu Bi Liang of School of Economics and Resources as President of Emerging Markets Institute. Mr. Hu summarizes and reports how the preparation for the founding of Emerging Markets Institute is going and its development targets and plans.
