On the afternoon of June 15th, women’s basketball team of our university defeated women’s basketball team of Peking University by a narrow margin after four tough quarters with the score of 82-71, and thus won the championship of the thirteenth national women’s basketball finals of CUBA(China University Basketball Association). This is the third time that our team was crowned the champion.

In the beginning, neither of the two sides hit until our university’s women basketball player Guo Xiaochen scored first and broke the deadlock. After our team’s maintaining the leading position for a while, women’s basketball team of Peking University adjusted its condition and overtook the lead gradually. Afterwards, both sides scored alternatively, and the game fell into a stalemate. When the first section was over, our team took the lead temporarily with the score of 17-15.

During the second section, both sides tied the score repeatedly. In the latter half, our team began to launch a strong attack, widened the score gap to seven points and was in the lead with 28-21. But then the opponent tied the score at once with several attacks. By the time the first half ended, Peking University was one goal ahead of our university with 34-33.　

During the second half, our team got the edge again and widened the score gap to seven points. However, Peking University took advantage of another several attacks and reduced the gap to one point. But our team quickly adjusted their state of affairs and had extended the gap to nine points with 61-52 by the end of the third section.

When the game came to the last section, the competition between the two teams became fiercer. In the first five minutes, our team maintained the lead being about ten points ahead. In the last two minutes, by playing stably, BNU’s women’s basketball team finally won the game with the score of 82-71, and gained the third national championship.
